Membership of the North Yorkshire Community Response team is open to anybody who is willing to volunteer their time and vehicle to help within the community.
All our members receive a DBS check. This is in line with the voluntary organisation expectations. Our membership fee is just £25 a year which includes the £12 fee for the DBS check. Full membership will only be accepted once your DBS check has been returned and your membership has been accepted by the directors.
All our members receive a core amount of training, which is run on a tiered system depending on the type of vehicle you have and the extent at which you want to volunteer. All our responders will receive certified training and basic core modules could include On- Road, Off- Road, Basic First Aid, Vehicle Recovery, Risk assessments and a number of other subjects relevant to what we do in order to operate safely and professionally when our services are required.
We conduct training throughout the year, normally at dedicated training days or at local meetings.
Fuel payment is received for any response work that is done by members and is paid at the rate of 45p a mile. Mileage forms are completed by the member in order to claim back your fuel allowance payment.
