Who we are

North Yorkshire Community Response is a volunteer group based in North Yorkshire offering logistical help to the community of North Yorkshire by providing a range of vehicles and drivers.

What we do

We aim to work with a network of users throughout the region. This could mean working with rural medical centres by helping out with patients who need to get to centres or hospitals for urgent treatment, the movement of equipment to the centres, or to people within the community as well as working with local hospitals offering transport to senior medical staff in adverse conditions.

The team is also able to assist Category 1 and 2 personnel with the movement of people or equipment in the case of a major incident or adverse weather including flooding and snow.

We also offer our assistance to local charities and communities by offering marshalling support at charity fundraising events and shows.

NYCR can work alongside other voluntary organisations within North Yorkshire to assist with transport, vehicles and drivers to move equipment or personnel, using a mixture of 4×4 vehicles and everyday vehicles.

Other activities

The group has an active social side and while the principle aims of the group are very serious, we try to involve the family of our members where possible.

The group is self-funded and we aim to raise funds and awareness of the group by doing such things such as attending local shows, quiz nights, holding car boots, tombola, cake stalls and stands within supermarkets and town centres all of which members are encouraged to join in with.

We are actively aiming to attract sponsorship within the community of North Yorkshire. If you are looking to offer sponsorship to the organisation, please get in touch with us via the website. We would be more than happy to meet and give you as much information on the group as possible.
